Omega Chi Epsilon is the National Honor Society for Chemical Engineering undergraduate and graduate students. Our goal is to promote scholarship and creativity in chemical engineering as well as recognize the virtues of character, integrity and leadership by following our motto, "Ode Chrototos Eggegramai," or, "In this Society, professionalism is engraved in our minds."
The key below represents the objectives of Omega Chi Epsilon. The four arms of the Maltese cross represent the first four objectives:
RECOGNITION: to recognize excellence in chemical engineer
INVESTIGATION: to promote original investigation and innovation in chemical engineering
SERVICE: to provide service to the chemical engineering department or school and its student body
COMRADESHIP: to promote comradeship among chemical engineers
The last value, PROFESSIONALISM, to promote honesty, integrity and social responsibility, is represented by the circular maroon crest in the shape of a globe, reminding us of the world-wide scope of chemical engineering, brought to us by the tools of mathematics, chemistry and physics, represented by the crossed retorts, integral sign and lightning bolt.
